I hope that you and your family are keeping safe and I would like to wish you a Happy New Year, I would also like to give you an update on a few matters from the previous year.
Hut Sales
We managed to open the hut for part of the 2021 season and overall, the sales were very good.
This was helped considerably by Glen selling to customers out of opening times.
Wait list
We currently have around 45 on our plot wait list and we are still finding that many more people have re evaluated during the pandemic and seek to have an allotment.
Marlow House
Once again excess vegetables have been dropped off to Marlow House, we know this is greatly appreciated and so we encourage you to continue to do this with any winter crop excess.
Annual Outing
As you are aware, no outing was held in 2021 due to covid-19. We will update you as soon as possible on any proposed day for 2022. If you have thoughts on a possible event please do drop an email to secretary@desboroughallotments.co.uk with your suggestions.
BBQ
The BBQ was held this year and was a very successful event. We had one of the biggest turn outs for many years and it was held alongside a fruit vegetable and flower competition. We had some wonderful displays and we aim to build on this for 2022.
2022 AGM
As you are aware, we would normally be seeking to hold our AGM at the beginning of February. However, due to the high increase in cases we feel we should once again delay. Although there is nothing in the Government Legislation to say we cannot get together we must always seek to ensure the safety of all our members. We therefore aim to hold one as soon as practical and in the meantime, the existing elected committee will continue to work on their usual tasks behind the scenes. As soon as we have an update we will of course be in touch.
2022 Subscriptions
The Committee are once again delighted to confirm that the Association have approved no increases in charges. Therefore, the fees for 2022 are as follows:
10 pole (large) Water Supply £6.00 Allotment Rent £20.00
5 pole (small) Water Supply £3.00 Allotment Rent £10.00
Association Subscription
£5.00
Please note, to have an allotment you must also be a member of the Association
All Allotment rents, water charges and all Association subscriptions are to be paid by Thursday 31st March 2022. Any plot holder/Association member who has not paid by Friday 1st April will be deemed to have given up their plot and it will be allocated to the next person on the wait list.
As with previous years, the Committee will not chase for payment.
Payment of Subscriptions
The hut will be open each Saturday in March commencing on the 5th between the hours of 10.30 am and 12.00 midday where you can you pay your subsections.
You can also make a BACS payment. If you choose this option then please ensure you add a reference of your full name, without this we will be unable to match your payment.

Please ensure that if you choose this method that your cheque is made payable to Desborough Allotment and Garden Association and NOT Desborough Allotments.
Cash can also be put in an envelope with your full name on the outside and put through the door of 188 Dunkirk
